What is a piece of writing (book, play, poem, etc) that you think of often?
Recently I’ve been thinking a lot of Mariana Enriquez’s Our Share of Night. It’s a tale of supernatural horror that explores love, sexuality, art, the past—but really it’s a meditation on Argentina’s dictatorship. I can’t recommend it highly enough and I have to thank my friend Gabby Squalia for tipping me off to it.
What is the best piece of advice you ever received?
“Get an education” from almost everyone in my life after I dropped of high school out my senior year. It took a (lost) decade but I finally went to college, got my Masters, and stumbled into journalism.
